Cricket
I started my cricket journey at Hungerford cricket club at age 9. I then joined Berkshire county cricket club at age 10 where I played through all the age groups and for the ladies 1st team before being picked up by the southern Vipers academy when I was 17. About 8 months after this I got offered my first part time contract for the senior women’s team around June of 2024, which then helped me to go on and receive my first full time contract at the end of the year to play for Hampshire. I was fortunate enough to be a part of the England under 19s World Cup squad which was a great experience and has definitely showed me the possibilities and opportunities out there if I keep working hard.
I’ve loved my time at Hampshire so far and have been lucky enough to make my professional debut, which was something I had always dreamed of and I can’t wait for the upcoming year to see what more I can do with my cricket.
- Why did you pick your sport?
From a young age I played as many sports as possible but cricket was a particular favourite amongst me and my family and was played very frequently. Having two older brothers who also loved cricket meant I always had people to compete/ play against and have not been able to put the sport down since then.
- What motivates you to get better?
I want to get better to keep raising the standards of the game and to encourage more girls to feel confident in pursuing their passion whether thats cricket or anything else. I am very driven to become the best I can be and hopefully extend my career for as long as possible by continuing to work hard and try and take the opportunities I get.
- Biggest success so far
Making my professional debut for Hampshire at the start of the 2025 season. It was always something I had dreamed of as becoming a professional cricketer had been a life long dream of mine and after receiving my first contract in 2024 it was always the next goal of mine.
- Sporting Hero?
My sporting hero is Charlotte Edward’s who is not only a Legend of the game but was my coach for a period of time and has really inspired me to keep working hard.
- Best sporting event you have watched on TV or live
Going to the 2012 London Olympics was a great experience and especially exciting now Cricket is going to be added for the 2028 Olympics.
